Me and Stepin is a hilarious, joyful, and smartly written and performed by Richie McCall who writes about what he knew: the ups and downs of being a black actor struggling to succeed in show business. A spirited, autobiographical tale with a twist, Directed and dramaturge by Dathan B. Williams.


After many years of frustration and disappointment, he finds his " voice" and his self-worth from the spirit of one of America's most demeaned and disrespected early Black film actors:  Stepin' Fetchit.


Me and Stepin follows the story of “Richie,” a singer-actor-dancer “pounding that hard-ass pavement.” His life is forever changed when he’s visited by the spirit of the notorious” stereotypic” early Hollywood Black film star, Stepin Fetchit. “...What the hell was that about? “It’s like in A Christmas Carol: The ghost of negroes past.” McCall’s genius is that, through his unique comic sensibility, he manages to make the racism…
