One of our goals is to provide a space where performing artist can freely develop their vision without the monetary or time constraints.

Love | Art | Play was created to host artistic projects and continue the legacy of Arlene Begelman. Those who know Arlene as a teacher, director and choreographer describe her a true treasure in the New Milford area. Her 60+ years of dedication to the performing arts is second to none. As Artistic Director of Actor’s Repertory Theatre of Connecticut and Connecticut Stage, Inc., directing dozens of plays and musicals. In 1981 Arlene became Artistic Director of The School of the Performing Arts (S.O.P.A) a professional training school for dance, voice and theatre. Her high standards, dedication, and undying love for the arts is unparalleled and reflected in her students.

Love | Art | Play promotes original arts projects with professionals and non-professionals of all disciplines, encouraging them to step out of their safety zones to work on collaborative projects.

We hope to nurture and develop nascent talents that exist in our communities and provide opportunities for blossoming talents through workshops, lectures,

and demonstrations. Many of the Love|Art|Play performances have raised funds for charities that benefit deserving men, women, and children of all ages. Bringing the experience of the art enrich, enlighten, inspire, and educate us all towards developing a more positive humanity.

Our wish list includes a theater space for artists to gather while working on projects without monetary or time constraints, establishing a youth theater of divergent talent and providing a place for the community to see artists work and develop while itself participating in many of our planned projects.

Love|Art|Play encourages participation by interested performing and visual artists as well as volunteers in any of its future programs. Contact: Arlene Begelman c/o loveartplayct@gmail.com.
