LESLIE BALLARD (vocals, flute) began performing professionally at the age of 15, playing flute and singing original music with popular rock bands. Her voice coaches range from Grammy-winner Michael Bolton to Leslie Harrington of the Metropolitan Opera. For several seasons she was a soprano with New York’s Amato Opera. She was also a member of the NYC East Village Gospel Choir, the Gaelic group, Wexford Trio, and sang backing vocals for many artists' recordings. For decades, as the manager of top New York recording studios, her clients included luminaries from LL Cool J to Paul McCartney. Her latest project is Joni Mitchell’s Jazz Tribute, a group of outstanding musicians drawn together by appreciation of Joni’s music and jazz collaborations including Tom Scott, Jaco Pastorius, Charles Mingus, Larry Carlton, Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny. This creates a full circle back to one of her earliest musical inspirations—Joni Mitchell.
